HOW TO FIND US

The park entrance is located on Colne Road between postcode BB11 2AA and the canal bridge.

Approaching Burnley on the M65 Motor way from the West. ( Preston. Blackburn M6. M61) (Get Map)

Leave the M65 Motorway at Junction 10 follow the signs for Burnley Centre at the first set of traffic lights keep left, down West Gate passing Car Showrooms on the left, at the Roundabout take first exit, at the next Roundabout in approx 300yds take the second exit this will take you up Active Way at the first set of traffic lights straight on (Sainsbury’s Supermarket on your left), in 200 yards at the next set of traffic lights keep left on to Colne Road  (Sainsbury’s supermarket still on your left behind the Art Deco Façade) of what was Prestige Ltd. In 100 yards or less before the Canal Bridge turn right (sign posted Thompson Park Pedestrian Entrance and Air Cadet Squadron). This is a short  access road to the park. If just visiting park at side of road before the park gates and access to the park is through the pedestrian gate. The Railway is down the ramp and on your right. On special event days, the main Park Gates at this entrance, will be open giving vehicular access to the Railway only, for off loading of Loco’s Etc.

Leave the M65 Motorway at Junction 11, follow the signs for Town Centre and Asda, at the ASDA roundabout, straight on for appox 400 yds, to the next roundabout take the first exit left, at the first set of traffic lights straight on (Sainsbury’s Supermarket on your left) in 200 yards at the next set of traffic lights keep left on to Colne Road  (Sainsbury’s supermarket still on your left behind the Art Deco Façade) of what was Prestige Ltd. Please advise us of your requirements for the unloading of locomotives etc. as vehicles are not generally allowed in the park unless by prior arrangement or for disabled access. Dogs are not allowed in the park at any time.
