Owned by John Bohan who commissioned it to be professionally build using drawings from the original locomotives of The Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway which operated from 1904 until 1934 carrying goods and passengers. A unique feature of this railway was that it was possible to load standard gauge trucks onto purpose build narrow gauge ones.
